The dedication of Benjamin Ryan

"The child must know that he is a miracle, that since the beginning of the world there hasn't been, and until the end of the world there will not be, another child like him.” - Pablo Casals

Today was the day at 12:30 p.m. we dedicated the life of our son, Benjamin Ryan, to the Lord before the congregation at Gateway.

One of the pastors was assigned just to us. She came and held Benjamin and blessed him in the name of Jesus. She poured her blessings over him and then individually over each of us. When she got to Josh, she really became choked up. She has three sons of her own and she was so moved by our family. It was touching.
As soon as she blessed Benjamin, she handed him back to me and then started to talk to Drew. As I held Benji and Drew was being blessed for being a strong big brother... he wouldn't take his eyes and hands off of Benjamin... he would hold his little feet and kiss his toes and touch his tender heels. He would caress them as if it was HIS baby. He, indeed felt special for being a part of something small but significant.

Present were my mother in law and my dad as well as both boys (they went off to Sunday School afterwards). Thank you to my friends Brad and Melissa Conlon for getting a video of it for me. My mother in law took the photos. I didn't bring my camera. (shudder!)

Thanks for taking the time to show some love. I had to turn the comment moderation back on for the asshats that feel it necessary to spam blogs. Sorry for the interruption.
