I bought some wrapping paper so the boys could help each other wrap their doors to look like big, giant presents. I thought that was festive.
Today's Letter is C. I sometimes have different associations on their cards than what is in the poem that I wrote. For instance, their sheet says C is for City of Bethlehem and their drawing sheet reads: C is for Christmas Candles Shining Very Bright. This gives me another "in" to talking about scripture.
The 12 Day of Christmas day two - Two turtle doves which is when I can bring out the Bible and show how this represents the two books of the Bible. Explaining how the old testament was a foretelling of a Savor that was to come and the New Testament tells of a savior who arrives. Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments because they have one mate for life -- they represent enduring relationships, such as the unbreakable bond between the Old and New Testaments.
I think big presents on the door would be quite festive. You're very creative, the boys must be having such a great time leading up to the big day!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you're writing all this down for us! I am so going to copy you when C is old enough to do all this. :) or maybe when I'm old enough to plan it more than a week in advance ;)
