1. What advice would you give a newly married couple?
To HIM: Nothing is sexier than a man that HELPS. And by HELPS I mean, doesn't EVER just stand there idly watching someone else do laundry, clean dishes, cook, wipe down counters. The more time you spend with her doing all the crap work...the more time you have to spend WITH her doing all the stuff you love to do together. If you don't know how to cook, it's time you learned. Don't marry someone to get a mother...because I promise you she doesn't WANT anymore children than she will be blessed with or already has. Be a man.... learn to be a helper, not a hindrance!
To HER: Don't get lazy and fat and let yourself go. Everyone will put on a few pounds... but don't put on an entire person and expect him to look at you with the same longing. If he married a size 2, he's not going to want a size 22. Secondly, he's not a chick, so don't expect him to act like one. He's not a mind reader... don't play head games. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Idle threats will fall on deaf ears. Sex validates men and makes them feel loved. You need to understand that PRONTO.
To BOTH: Make time for intimacy.... all the time. Period.
2. Who does more laundry around your house?
Me. Then Josh. That's about it. Is it annoying as hell? You bet your ass it is! Men, read my answer to #1 above... take note. Do you HEAR the hostility in my voice?
3. What items, if any, do you prefer to buy organic or make yourself?
I would *prefer* to buy all organic of the dirty dozen: (apples, celery, strawberries, peaches, spinach, nectarines, grapes, bell peppers, potatoes, blueberries, lettuce, kale (tied with collard greens which I don't eat) but economically, it's just so damned expensive! Why DO they have to use SO MUCH pesticides on foods? These are really the only "organic" things I'd buy... as I obviously can't make them. This question is rather odd. Do you mean GROW for yourself? I'd PREFER to grow ALL my own produce but I am not sure a banana tree would fare well in the back yard.
4. What book/TV series would you recommend for a friend on bedrest?
I don't really watch television so I can't speak for any TV series but I'd offer up my Seinfeld DVDs! Since, you know, that was THE best comedy --- like EVER! Books are such a personal thing as far as specific genres that I'd have a hard time recommending any one series to someone because what I read is all over the board. I might read a biography and then go to a do-it-yourself book. Rarely, if ever, do I follow a series. I'm no fun.
5. So, they say it's Spring now...what does your "spring" look like at this very moment?
This very moment is is 44 degrees with a high of 59 today. We had a cold front blow through yesterday. Tomorrow we have a chance for severe weather and tornadoes.
I love your marriage advice - so very true!!
ReplyDeleteMarriage advice - right on the money.
ReplyDeleteLaundry - I prefer to still have clothes, so I do it all
Organic - Would love to buy all organic, but we need other things like electricity. I have a black thumb, so no growing for me. Luckily, my mom gives me gifts from her garden.
Weather - Sounds like OK - especially the tornados.
