Happy Halloween!

Oh yes, the fun American tradition of dressing up your children so that no one will recognize them and sending them through the neighborhood begging for candy. :)

Drew had a good time tonight -- whining (mostly) because he didn't get to ring the doorbell (toward the end it was because even Batman gets tired!

There was one house that had a mummy behind one of the side windows next to the door... when the lady opened the door, he yelled, "TRICK OR TREAT" and then jsut walked into her house and asked if he could touch it. It was quite a hoot.

We also saw a house that had a strobe light... he wanted to go see the "blue thing" that went like this -- and he proceeded to stick his tongue in and out and make his hands ... do something weird -- can't even describe it with words - his arms were just flailing about -- quite a riot. :)

We piggy backed with Lisa, Austin and Renee... It was fun. Being a tad warm, their masks got hot after a while and so dragging the wagon around, it became the official tote. Austin was a Power Ranger and in the beginning, Drew wanted nothing to do with trick or treating... and everything to do with carrying Austin's power staff thing. I don't know why Drew wasn't just a power ranger but I guess Bat Man won over this year... we'll see how he fares next year.

I hope all your little spooks and goblins had a great night tonight... it's such a whippin but when they have fun running from house to house... makes it all worth it (until the dentist visits!) :) ha!

Here's a photo of Josh -- no longer in the age of "cute"... he had to go for gross. Oh well, at least he wasn't asking to be a mermaid, count my blessings -- right.

And this is my little Batman with his forced smile and fake "cheeeeeesss" (not cheese because he can't say his "s" just right yet)

Anti-Christian and Political Rhetoric

...drives me NUTSO!

I swear at least four to five times a day the past week, I've received e-mail about the new Nicole Kidman movie coming out -- The Golden Compass...

Here is a sample of one of them:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I am pretty sure I had seen the commercial for it and was wanting to see it. I figured it looked like a good kid movie; but apparently not!

Confirmed by snopes 2007.

A movie to avoid

We need to get the word out about this movie - it is coming out in December - an atheist produced it, it is marketed for children and in the end they kill God.

Send this to everyone you know.

http://snopes.com/politics/religion/compass.asp

------------------------------------------------------------------
here is another:
A close friend sent this to me and I checked it out. Please do read this! God bless, Susan

Hello everyone. OK, this is the largest e-mail that I have ever dispersed but I thought it was extremely important. There is a Holy War going on, let’s be PRO-ACTIVE and protect our little ones minds, eyes, and ears!! I’m praying God will intervene and not allow this movie to be released, even so, may we take a vocal and active stand for our God! And may Phillip Pullman’s eyes be opened to the truth! Following is a copy of what was sent to me.

I heard there is an anti-Christian children's movie (written by an atheist, Philip Pullman of England) called The Golden Compass coming out on December 7 (just in time for Christmas). It stars Nicole Kidman, so it will be getting a lot of publicity. Philip despises C.S Lewis and Narnia, and his goal is to "kill GOD in the minds of children". An article written about him labels him "the most dangerous author in Britain!" He has written 3 books that all promote atheism, and the movie depicts his first book (which is the more watered-down of the 3). His goal is that you see the movie and then that your kids want his trilogy for Christmas…and then it REALLY gets offensive in the second 2 books!! But just to give you a tid-bit of what's in Philip's books… a ex-nun calling Christianity a convincing mistake, 2 characters representing Adam & Eve KILL God (called YAHWEH) in the end, and there's a story about castration & female circumcision! I am blown away by this! It will be targeted toward children and advertised as a fun-holiday flick. Don't fall for it! Here is the snopes article about it to back up what I've been saying… http://snopes.com/politics/religion/compass.asp

PLEASE, PLEASE tell everyone you know and love NOT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!! Imagine how our children's little minds would absorb these awful lies! Let's get the word out and fight back!!! Boycott The Golden Compass!!

Let’s never cease to pray for a lost and dying world. I am so thankful God has opened my eyes to His truth. We must pray for others-He loves them as much as me.

-------------------------------------------------------
=======================================================

And in the end, ultimately, here is my response to everyone.... :)

I don’t know, the whole right wing holy-roller group said the same sorts of things about the Harry Potter series of movies and – to me – there is no harm in those movies whatsoever… they're movies about good vs. evil and good prevailing… with a lot of cool special effects, neat accents and awesome wardrobes as well. I used it as a talking tool with my son in the language he understands to discuss what he though it was really about… do we believe in witches and magic and sorcery? Of course not…

I would personally rather SEE the movie and use it as a teaching tool to have an open medium for communication with him about the Father and such… rather than taking someone else’s word for what it is… children don’t see things like we do… and I embrace that and use every moment to be a teaching tool rather than assuming it’s just protecting him… I would LOVE for my son to be one to question EVERYTHING so that he’s not just blindly following what I say because I say it.. I want him to WANT to know the WHYS and WHOs and WHATs of our God and to learn to seek it on his own… and if a movie is the basis for igniting another great conversation (and boy we’ve had some doozies) with him about that…??? I don’t see that as harm… I see it as an incredible teaching opportunity.

I’m not saying anything other than… I am one to challenge everything and make my own decision… and I’m proudly raising my son to do the same. I don’t think we’re doing it “right” anymore than I think someone else is doing it “wrong”… just saying that… you just never know where there may be an opportunity missed because of trying to do the “right thing” and boycotting something just because someone said so… when you haven't even found out for yourself the opportunities that could await from the experience.

And before you even ask yourself -- know this -- Yes, I’m a rebel!

Quizzes

OK, so I admit it.... I love taking quizzes. Though half the time I find myself choosing answers that are nothing like me but they're the only ones from the multiple choice that even seem reasonable (to me)... which, of course, means that the answer is skewed... but it's neat to read it and see if you're "in common" with your homies. :) (OMG did I just USE that word?)

So I found another one... Are You A Perfectionist? LOL... well, DUH, of COURSE I am...but I still took the stupid quiz. :) Here's what it said.

You Are 75% Perfectionist

You are a true perfectionist. You are both demanding of yourself and others.
While it's great to have goals and standards, they don't need to be sky high!

and then I had to do this one... to find out my inner Sesame Street personality match... :( Boy is this mean or what? ROFL

You Are Oscar the Grouch

Grumpy and grouchy, you aren't just pessimistic. You revel in your pessimism.

You are usually feeling: Unhappy. Unless it's rainy outside, and even then you know the foul weather won't last.

You are famous for: Being mean yet loveable. And you hate the loveable part.

How you life your life: As a slob. But it's not repelling as many people as you'd like!

And gee... whoda thunk this one? ROFL... I hadn't been called a Bit#% for nothing! Ha!
You're Totally Sarcastic

You sarcastic? Never! You're as sweet as a baby bunny.
Seriously, though, you have a sharp tongue - and you aren't afraid to use it.
And if people are too wimpy to deal with your attitutde, then too bad. So sad.

I am ONE Lucky Girl!!!

Can you believe it that today is my tenth notice that I've won a South African lottery ... I am their latest one MILLION dollar winner... Wow... yesterday it was one from the UK... Before too long, I'll give Oprah a run for her money huh?! :)

Stick with me... and you, too, can get lots of luck! (Bwa ha ha ha ha ha)

I hate spam... you just can't seem to filter it enough!

Cute thought for the day

It's all right to sit on your pity pot every now and again. Just be sure to flush when you're done.

A Conversation With Josh

Josh wanted to help me last night make the Mexican corn side dish. I opened and drained one can of corn and poured it into the pan. I opened and drained the second can of corn and he wanted to pour it in. In it goes. Then, I realized that I'd forgotten to melt the cream cheese and butter in the pan SO I got out a big bowl and dumped the corn into that and then got the package of cream cheese out of the fridge and began to cut it into small blocks (so that it would melt easier)... Josh began to put them into the pan one by one... I got the butter out of the fridge and put a blob of that in the pan.

Josh began to watch them all melt... at which time I reached for the corn to pour it in.

"You can put the corn in the pan"

"Why not"

"Because it will melt"

"Corn can't melt"

"It can if you put it in lava"

... ???? ok... just the weird ramblings of my crazy 8 year old. :)

Degrees of Separation ~ An Experiment

My link to this experiment was Nina Perrin from her blog What the BUZ is ABOUT: http://buzabouts.blogspot.com/

Will you join me in an experiment? I will answer the question: What was I doing 10/20/30 years ago...Then, you answer this question on your blog or here in the comments section. Tag as many other bloggers as possible & have them link back to http://www.relevantblog.blogspot.com/ (Mary DeMuth) who started this little social experiment!

Ten Years Ago (1997) - I lived in Colorado Springs, CO and was 24. I was a communications shift supervisor for the El Paso County Sheriff's Office (which is basically saying I was a 911 operator/police/fire/ems dispatcher and I supervised the staff on my shift. I had Boomer and Gidget (my Boston Terriers) and a cute little house on Bramble Lane... lived for the snow and drives into the mountains.

Twenty Years Ago (1987) - I was 14... don't get me trying to even freakin GUESS what grade I was in...??? 8th.. 9th? sheesh...

Thirty Years Ago (1977) - I was 4 years old, only one year older than my youngest son is now... my parents were still married... and some point within this time before I turned 5, we moved to the house where my mom still lives.

Our first accident in weeks....

Yes, Drew is potty trained! He’s TRAINED!!!! But (there is always some big BUTT in there somewhere isn't there?) we had our first “accident” in WEEKS yesterday… However, in Drew's defense he had an upset tummy and it was his first day wearing pants with a snap/zipper since like January or something… it was a comedy of errors…

It’s 20 minutes until gymnastics start so I’m like, Drew go upstairs and get changed into some shorts. Tick tock tick tock tick tock.. .no Drew…

“Dreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwww… come on”…

“I can’t, I got poo poo”

“then GO POO POO”

“No, I got poo poo in my pants”

“what? Ok, I’m coming”

Here I go, up the stairs… and he’s at the top of the stairs with Batman underwear full of poop… so we cautiously waddle into the bathroom where I try to gingerly pull them down without soiling his legs, etc. Good idea? In theory… I said, where does poop go? “in duh toilet” is the reply and he tries to sit down on the seat which throws off my progress and poop winds up down one leg… so now we have poop in the drawers (underwear), on his leg and now on the toilet seat and as he’s sliding back off… his foot slips.. poop on the foot. I say, “UGH…oh no, we need to take off those socks now” so what does he do? You guessed it… sits bare butt down right on the tile… so now I just mutter under my breath, we need to give you a quick bath… he points at the tub… and I’m like YES use that to brace yourself… “Yes, hold it”… what does he hold? His penis! He grabs his penis? Like “it” automatically means THAT!

LOL… talk about a CRAZY DAY…

YES we did make it to gymnastics…
and YES we were late… LOL

Wow... I'm tired!

Today we got up and went to Epcot. Amazing 37... that's where we parked but dude, when it came time to leave we couldn't figure out what row it was! Ha! How funny... what a hot whippin though. LOL. Ugh

We got there and went straight to The Land... to get Fast Passes for Soarin'. Once we got those went to ride the little boat ride -- anything that has water and is slow like "Small World" is Drew's favorite for the moment He had a good time on those... Once that was done we walked out and went to Journey To Imagination with Figment the little purple and pink dragon with orange spikes. When we were first entering, they are having the A Million Dreams Come True or something like that special at all the parks right now and they were handing out free lanyards with memorial pins on them... Dad, Josh, Drew and I all got one for FREE! :) So I gave mine to Josh so that he could trade them for two others. So he should be SET for the pins! :) The ride was a little similar to the last time I remember being on it and some had changed (unfortunately)... but hey, they can't always stay the same, right? We got off the ride and went into their little play area... I let the boys make some tubes of sandy candy (a.k.a. "kiddy crack") and off we went... I can't remember what we did after that but we did go back to redeem our fast our Fast Passes... the guy asked if Drew was tall enough (for the record, NO he isn't...but thanks dude for letting him on! :)) He just kind of raised an eyebrow and let us through after eyeing him up. We got buckled in and the ride is some type of hydraulic lift that puts you in front of a big IMAX type screen... has wind, aromas (like orange when you "fly" over the orange grove and pine when you go over the pine forest... it was beautiful. I wanted to be on those big mountains they showed... beautiful...

I wanted to go to the World Showcase... but man, it sucks with little people. Josh was bored, Drew was whiney (he's getting in molars -- yee gads that can make a day long)... I could spend an entire day in the World Showcase goign through the stores, reading about the countries, eating the food, enjoying the culture... but forget it if you have children. Epcot's World Showcase is wasted on little people! LOL... ok.. .not totally but if you really want to ENJOY it for what it is... it is. :)

So they're having the Food and Wine Festival where you pay between $3 and $7 and get a sampling portion of cuisine specific to the countries/regions... and a little extra to sample a bit of the wines that would compliment the entree or food choice. No, I couldn't drink wine and enjoy it when the sun was beating down on me like I was on a skillet...dude...it was HOT and there was NO WIND. Why people prefer the beach to the mountains is beside me. Josh wanted to sample EVERYTHING but I wasn't going to go broke letting him do that so I said...just because they offer food doesn't mean we have to buy it... he had a goat cheese and sun dried tomato quiche from France... we split a spinach lasagna and mozzarrella caprese "salad" from Italy and he ate some shrimp and some marinated veggies from Australia. I love that he's an adventurous eater. I'm not (really - somewhat but for the most part I jsut stick to what I KNOW I like rather than waste my money to be disappointed -- AND hungry). So after that we got Drew an ice cream... and then headed back home (once we found the car)

Got back to the house to RELAX... boy that sun just literally drains the LIFE out of you... I made some manwich and mac/cheese and we ALL crashed out! :) I slept in the princess room with Josh (he started out watching tv but quickly opted a nap -- which he needed badly). Got up, the boys went swimming and then we all headed back for round 2 at Epcot -- The big boys went to ride Soarin' (AGAIN -- but no option for a Fast Pass and it had a 65 minute wait) so Drew and I went toolin around through the countries. We heard some Moroccans... some funky Irish band in kilts playing rock music... lol... we bought some popcorn and fed the ducks (this actually was a very fun thing to do)... and then they were done... we found a spot... got Josh a funnel cake, watched the model trains and watched the fireworks (Drew atop my shoulders) ... it was over and we headed home.

It's after midnight, I have a little person who will be waking up in about 7 hours... so it's best I bid you all goodnight because we're hitting the MGM Studios tomorrow! Woo hoo! :) That should be fun... I hope we see some power rangers for Drew. :) I can hope at least! They dohave them on their little trading pins so there IS hope. :) Josh is dying to ride the Tower of Terror and my mom wants to know his reaction to it... So we shall see! :)

Goodnight...

Animal Kingdom

Day three was the Animal Kingdom... a few of the things I really wanted to see just weren't in the cards for us.... Everest... That was a no go... (for me anyway)... I wanted to ride it...but really haven't gotten to do much of anyhthing other than what I do every day at home just in a new location... why am I here again?

I left Drew's binkie in the car == HUGE mistake. UGH.... he would have lasted much longer if I'd had one... we did get to ride the train... went to Dinoland and rode a fun ride... made the mistake of having dad go on a ride with josh that spun around (whoops --sorry about that dad)... Dad doesn't do spinny things taht resemble the tea cups... I wont do those either....

I don't really recall anything over the top today... I didn't get hardly any pictures at all primarly because I didn't charge up my battery -- even though, YES, I took the big dog camera today.... Josh had the small one ... but the shutter lag time jsut kills me...

We just ate pizza at 3 and went swimming... Drew's down early tonight thank God (thank ya Big Guy)... and Josh and Dad are about to watch HalloweenTown on the Disney Channel and I know I won't last long tonight...

I'm going to have to take a vacation from this vacation after I get back -- WITHOUT CHILDREN... to like... someplace remote and quiet. :)

Opening a can of worms

I rode the Carousel of Progress with Drew when we were at the Magic Kingdom the first day and it's just one of my favorite rides... it's an animatronic walk through the progress we've made in America through the ages... it has the coolest props... goes from talking about how you can get from CA to NY in 7 days on a train... goes from gas lanterns to electricity to voice controlled appliances... it's quite cool and it's just neat to see the progress we've made thus far through the ages. What I can't get over, however, is how much progress we've made... sometimes we just make stuff that's really NOT about convenience but just seems to be something to take up counter space.... can openers, for instance.

I am SO not a fan of electronic can openers... not only are they generally gross because of all the residue, they have to be left out on the counter.... and they just don't DESERVE such worthy space... point in case... of all the places you need space... making room for a small appliance just doesn't seem worthy... and they cause me stress.

I was trying to open a can of green beans for dinner last night and good GRIEF and holy MOSES it nearly took an act of congress to figure the stupid thing out. I don't even like the kind that have the handles on them. I prefer the small one taht's basically a little twisty turny thing and a "blade"... it requires no skill and doesn't feature electric currents to make things "go".... just good ole elbow grease.

I swear before it was over, I was ready to just run over the freakin can with the car and scrape the beans off the driveway. LOL. :)

PRogress - schmrogress.... can openers are for wussies!

Day two leads to the big golf ball

that would be Epcot. We got there and as SOON as the car doors were shut to head from the car to the parking lot -- the sky started falling. Ugh. So much for having decent hair... I got the rained on hair but at least I didn't wear a white t-shirt. They'd probably kick me out for indecency.

I'm starting to think that being conservative is such a thing of the past... I don't understand some of the cultures taht believe that if you can squeeze into it, it fits. That just SO not right on any level... Fashion police need to go into overdrive in large gatherings of people. Wearing shirts that show your bra straps (tank tops with spaghetti straps)... it's tacky... on any level. Wearing shorts that give you the muffin top... AND bottoms... means they DON"T FIT.... you need to lose 10 lbs or go up 2 sizes... it's pretty simple. Wearing shirts that have very large keyhole cut outs when you're over a DD bra size will not only leave funky sunburn lines they look really tasteless at a family gathering location. Wearing deodorant really shouldn't be an option once you hit puberty... there should be laws against NOT wearing it. :)

OK... off my soap box. :)

Together we rode a couple of rides... Drew loved the Living in the Seas ride that featured Nemo. He wanted to stay in the big clamshell ride... loved watching the real manatees eat their lettuce... they're so cute, I swear I just want to hug them. Sea cows...they are just so gentle and graceful... they're just big tubba lards. :) with whiskers...

Then while the big boys went to do their fast pass with the Test Track, we went to stand in line in the toon town character spot... for about 40 minutes... I am surrounded by all these people with their well behaved little girls wearing their cute Mickey/Minnie garb and I have the monkey that won't listen and insists on crawling all over the bars... UGH. We were goign to see Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip n Dale... but oh no... we got there and the kid FROZE! He FROZE!!! ??? I tried to coax him... then push him... if I pushed on his rump, he leaned back with his shoulders...so I thought, OK... as much as I don't want to, I'll get in the shot... so I picked him up, and stood by Mickey and Drew clung onto me like his life depended on it... I"m talking death grip... and he put his head on my shoulder facing AWAY from Mickey. Oh well.. so we walked around the back of the rest and just looked at them and got in the stroller and met the big boys at the exit and headed home. LOL

We were going to ride Soarin' but the wait was too long and the fast pass wasn t until 5:40-6:40 and we weren't going to be there at that time... so we'll hit the couple of rides we want to ride as soon as we get there next time. We did ride something in The Land... little boat ride...we went through their hydroponic garden.. it had tomato plants and pumpkin trees... was amazing. I love watching how they do that... if I didn't have Drew, I'd totally do a behind the scenes tour. I'd love to come back and actually do Disney without kids... just to experience the food and sights and tours that you just can't when you have two little superheros running around...

Anyways, today was just an extra day at a park... we were going to do the beach today so for us not to and to do a little extra time at another park was jsut fun. :)

We came back and ate lunch -- MMMM... spaghetti, salad and garlic bread... then naps... and then into the swimming pool... (hot tub for me). :) had grilled chicken and rice with green beans for dinner. :) It'd be nice to go out to eat but Drew just won't last at a restaurant without totally stressing me out...

Tonight Josh found some inflatable mallet thing and he and Drew proceeded to attack Dad with it with a good 30 minutes of PawPaw playtime. It was a hoot. I'm GOING to figure out how to upload this to the site! :)

Tomorrow we head to the Animal Kingdom and I hope to do the entire park by 2 pm. I'm taking Drew's PB&J with us so that he'll have something to eat while we're there. So we shall see. :) That will leave tomorrow night for just relaxing too! :) And I'm all about that... maybe we'll go putt putt... unless Drew starts attacking everyone w/the putter... I can see it now. LOL

We've arrived & day 1

After a 2 hour ordeal getting from the the runway to the house (geeze louise) we are HERE... (yesterday). I got everyone fed and then went to Wal-Mart for groceries... OMG what a WHIPPIN. This store is what I would think you'd find the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. It was absolutely insane... I'd be embarrassed to know how well the other WMs are/look/run if I worked there. There were people there with little babies.... it was 11 o'clock at night! I was just beside myhself.... BUT.. I got the goods, got back, got to bed and tried to get some sleep.

The alarm went off at 6:30 this morning and since I was about 4 hours short on sleep... yes, I hit the snooze button -- more than once (get your jaws off the ground). Drew woke up and was a little out of his element so went searching for a live person... "mornin mom... where Dosh" (Dosh is what he calls Josh... it's very sweet actually).

On a sidenote, Drew has never had someone stay in the same room with him. I thought it might be a neat idea to see if they could stay in the same room together. Unfortunately last night, Drew thought it was the coolest thing ever and he would'nt shut up for Josh to go to sleep so Josh went to sleep in the pink princess room... LOL... I'm going to HAVE to get a picture of that for the books! LOL

This morning I made scrambled egg and bacon toaster sandwiches for breakfast - coupled with a big glass of milk and 1/2 a banana... good deal! Shower and out at the parking lot at about 10. Drew was just in AWE over it all when we walked up to the Magic Kingdom. Walking down main street he was just experiencing sensory overload...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

...you could hear Mickey talking (they had a show going on before the stage at Cinderella's castle) and then the toot toot of the train... all the stores, the people, the balloons, the colors, the smells, he was definitely on overload. We headed straight for Tommorrowland... enroute there we spotted a mother duck and two little ducklings scarfing down some popcorn some passers by left for them... They were so cute. The big boys went to go ride Space Mountain and so Drew and I went to go ride Disney's Carousel of Progress. That was the first ride of the sort Drew's ever been on. He kept wanting to pet the doggie... I love this ride, it's definitely of my favorites of all time.. the period appliances, how everyone feels like (at the time) things are just getting better and better...

Before we were about to get that ride underway, bad news text message that the line at Space Mountain was too long so they got a Fast Pass instead but we're already on the ride. So, since Drew and I had jsut started on it, Josh and Dad get on it too... After the ride was over, Drew got his first character experience... he got to meet Buzz, the man himself, Mr. Lightyear Space Ranger. He was beyond blown away... I think this was just the shiz-nits for my little man. I like that he let me take a picture... mostly because he's at the stage where he won't let me...but mostly because he bravely went straight up to him and was just kind of .. look mom can you believe Buzz Lightyear is talking to ME!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

We left that only to watch some electronic trash can talking and interacting. :)

...and we went to go ride Buzz Lightyear's space adventure... you get to sit in your own little space ship and they have two laser guns on them and you get to shoot for points. He had a blast... Josh and my dad rode together... Josh's score was like 406,000. Drew's was 1900. :) But it was really fun... I still can't believe Josh was terrified to ride that last time we were there...

We also went to see the Laugh Show they have for Monster's Inc. and while the fast passes at Space Mountain were redeemed, Drew and I went to ride the Tomorrowland Transportation Authority. Drew loved it... As soon as we were getting off the rides he really liked of course, we had the NOOOOO... AGAIN fit. He just thinks he's supposed to get to stay on it and go again. :)

But it was getting time for a certain little man to eat lunch and take a nap. He ate 3/4 of a grilled cheese, wolfed down some mandrin oranges and then just nibbled on some cheeto puffs... after that he was down for the count. :)

Joshi is bugging me to go swimming but I want a nap... had to record some memories though.... once Drew's back up..we're all heading out again.. for another round. :)

I'll be back for round two later... for now, it's time to watch my eyelids.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=
OK, so I got a nap, and we went back to the Magic Kingdom... it's so funny because Drew normally associates it being dark with "night night time" so I was wondering how he was going to take being out and about in the darkness. We got there and instead of heading straight for Space Mountain, we headed for Adventureland (I think) I'd told Josh about the pin trading and the landyards and he was just ... ready to start his collection so his first purchase was to buy a lanyard and 4 pins (kit) and he was on the hunt thereafter ready to trade. We went through the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse and then rode the Jungle Cruise... the director was a hoot -- I love stupid jokes. He said to this one kid at the end... "no no no... don't crawl out the window, you have to use the door... wait until you're 16 and do it out your own window" LOL something like that. He was just a wealth of stupid one liners. :) I appreciated the effort at least. :) but then again, like I said, I love stupid jokes... we left the jungle cruise and then we went on Aladin's magic carpets. Drew LOVED that. Josh rode in the front of the carpet with dad and he kept turning around asking Drew before the ride started, "Drew do you want to go low or go high"...and Drew would, of course, say "high" and Josh would say "okay" and turn back around.. I swear the exchange took place at least a half a dozen times. So that happened and we wandered up towards Splash Mountain and everyone was lining up for the SpectroMagic parade... and while I thought initially not to do it... I thought, what the heck... I found a hole to ask if someone would mind if Josh squeezed in... Drew on the shouliders and he was just ... again, in sensory overload. He loved it. He would wave to everyone when they came by...and once I was like... ok, this is enough and total overkill... we started to head over to ride It's A Small World -- he LOVED LOVE LOVED this ride too... Josh had fun on it because I gave him the camera and if it moved, we probably took a picture of it. LOL. and he'd take it and then hae to show me. I'm surprised I have any battery life OR picture space left. :) I think I'm going to take my big dog camera to the Animal Kingdom tomorrow. There's no shutter delay on that one and NO LEARNING CURVE!

Once that was finished, we were either goign to try to ride Peter Pan's ride, Snow White's ride or ... bam... the fireworks started... we weren't in the best spot for pictures because, face it, we've all see the fireworks show explosions behind Cinderella's castle and they're best viewed FROM Main Street... well, we were BEHIND the castle... so the fireworks jsut weren't in the same spot. Phooey... and then trying to leave after that.. I think 90% o fthe park decided to leave then too.. freakin UGH... so slowly we made our way back.. what a freakin whippin -- we were ALL tired -- HUNGRY -- did I mention how much I love crowds of people pushing strollers capable of taking out a small army ankle first... and then these same people are jacking with their cameras... and their cell phones.. and their cell phone cameras...and the maps...and if I took another freakin stroller to the back of my leg, I was going to flip it over on top of them... kid and all. ;) Anyways... drew liked the fireworks... UNTIL the end...they lit up some monster bammers and they were LOUD...and it kind of freaked him out -- just a tad. :) There are some crazy senior citizens getting Montezeuma's revenge on everyone too with their speedy little motor scooters.... thanks to The Scooter Store! LOL... dam fools!

On the way out the gate, Josh wanted to trade pins with one of the ladies working the exit gates. She had one of her pins turned over where just the frog (the back side of the pin -- I think they are called frog clasps..?? I dunno) was showing off the back and she said that it was a "mystery pin" and that if you wanted it, you couldn't see it, you just had to pick it and take what you got.... he chose it.. it was a rainbow striped mickey... I told Josh that it was pretty and then I said, you'll want to change that again. LOL... he was like... why? So I explained to him how the Disney company is very "sympathetic" to the homosexual culture... so to that I got the good ole, "what does that mean mommy" to which I replied, you know, boys that like boys and girls that like girls people... OH... that they're supportive of them but we, as Christians do not feel that this is the way that it's supposed to be... what people do is their business but that is one of their universal "symbols" so, lets just trade it. :) So, once he realized that it was a "gay pin" he wanted to trade it... So the minute we deboarded the monorail, he approached the guy there to trade him. He did get a cute little fat round pluto pin in it's place -- they have a whole set of pins now that looks like they are supposed resemble mylar balloons... it was cute... or perhaps it's like what Pluto would look like on South Park. Regardless, he was glad to be rid of the pin and the guy we traded it to... lol... I think he liked his new pin. ROFL...

On the way home, drew says "hey momma... hey mom" so I lean over only for my sweet little son to wipe a booger on my finger that he'd just picked and decided to share with me.. and he said that "i sharing" ... gee...thanks.... be selfish next time brat will ya?

It was a late night for everyone... We hit McDonalds on the way home for two little people. Drew took a pink bath.. we read stories... and bam, he was DOWN for the count. Josh took a quick bath (shower?? something) and he was down for the count -- IN the same room... LOL... so I guess it just depends on how tired and such they are. (Drew.. who am I kidding, there's no "they")

OH... and since we left the porch light on... we had these fun little wall climbing frogs all over our entry way.

When it comes to blows...

run for the teacher.

I took the boys out for pizza... primarily because we have NO food at the house because of our upcoming vacation but also because it's just quick and easy and darnit -- I was too busy to make dinner. So, an evening at Cici's Pizza it was. We got our 3 buffets and sat down.... Josh had told me to remind him (he'll learn eventually that saying that is like the kiss of death for whatever the idea is)... i'd forgotten to ask about it until we got back in the car to head home... and then he told me that a boy got sent to the principal's office... and he was a part of it... and I'm like.. HUH?

So as the story goes, Josh and his friend went to the bathroom... Josh finished and went to wash his hands and started to head back to the room but realized he'd forgotten to get a drink so he turned around and went back. At that time, he heard his friend calling for help from the boy's bathroom so he went into investigate. In doing so he found a 4th grader pushing his friend into the bathroom wall so Josh stood up for his friend adn told the kid to "pick on someone your own size" and the kid tried to start it with Josh... pushing him into the wall and josh came out swinging and kicking... made sure his friend was in the clear and they went to get the teacher... who promptly drug the kid to the principal's office.

As horrible as it sounds, I'm actually kind of proud of him.. not for fighting but for fighting for what is RIGHT. Was it right for him to get in the middle of something that he was obviously not a part of? No. Of course not, but I'm proud of him for standing up for someone in need, regardless of what it may potentially cost him (being in trouble for fighting). I told Josh that as long as he's not starting it, he will NEVER get in trouble with me for standing up for himself or others. I honestly think it was really good for him as well... give him a sense of being a little big of a bad ass. :) Who does't want to feel secure in your own skin?

I'm going to have TWO of those bumper stickers that say "my flunkie beat up your honor student" LOL... KIDDING! :)
