Thanks everyone for dropping notes by to see how and where I am. No, I didn't fall off the face of the earth, it's just more like 'tis the season to be super busy. :) I'm missing on recording all kinds of crazy things! I am getting it down... just not on the blog!
BUT one of the topics of conversation lately is what to do with Christmas cards. How to reuse or recycle them. While I can't say that I've ever recycled a Christmas card, I've certainly reused them. Mostly, these days, we receive photo cards. How can you possibly reuse or recycle these? Simple!
What I did was go to Joann's when they were having 50% off their frames. I bought two HUGE matching frames. I removed the glass and the cardboard that is usually inside them as padding. In their place, I cut to size a huge piece of black foam core board. Then as I got photos of loved ones and Christmas photocards, I would trim them and then just pin them up to the foamboard. When I walk by I get to be surrounded by those that we love and hold dear every day. It also remindes me to continually pray for my friends and family. So, here are a couple of photos so you can actually SEE what I'm talking about.
and because I use just regular pins and not quilter's pins, they're virtually invisible...here's a side view so you can see what the pins look like

Great idea...I actually do the Ali Edwards square punch thing and make pages out of them...they make terrific Christmas pages that way!
Oh, and school pictures that you get every year? ROLODEX!
