OAMC - ideas

I've been still eating from the freezer at least once or twice a week! It's awesome, let me tell you to just thaw a package of something and have dinner ready. I'm lovin' it!

I've been thinking of alternative ideas to find recipes (other than the cookbooks I purchased)... and then it came to me. Seriously, it came to me in my in box. I used dto go to places like "Dream Dinners" and such to prepare meals for the freezer. Why not use their ideas... find the recipes and freeze them MYSELF?! It HAS to be cheaper!

Some of the items on their menu this month...
  • Garlic & Balsamic Marinated Flank Steak
  • Mango Glazed Salmon
  • Italian Pomodoro Burgers
  • Surf & Turf Pinwheels
  • St. Louis Smokehouse Ribs
  • Savory Grilled Chicken w/ Sesame Honey Butter
  • Southwest Chicken w/ Ciabatta Rolls
  • Pesto Primavera Stuffed French Bread
  • Sonoma Grilled Steak w/ Goat Cheese
  • Sweet Chipotle Chicken over Egg Noodles
  • Crispy Parsley Shrimp over Polenta
  • Grilled Pork Chops w/ Sweet Potato Fries
  • Hawaiian Chicken w/ Jasmine Rice (and doesn't the description they posted make it sound just that much better? "The Hawaiian Islands' unique regional flavor is highlighted in this popular Dream Dinner. Chicken breasts are simmered in pineapple, ginger and sweet peppers for an easy and delicious meal everyone will love. Serve over Jasmine rice (provided) for a truly tropical meal."
  • Buttery Peanut Chicken w/ Brown Rice
  • Hershey Cocoa and Espresso Rubbed Steak

I mean, who WOULDN'T want a freezer full of mouth watering dishes with names like that? So, I'll start doing a little investigation as far as getting THAT kind of stuff in to MY freezer (at a reduced cost). Mind you, I HAVE had their meals adn they're good, I'm just cheap.

So, we'll see what I find out and/or come up with.

I still haven't figured out how the OAMC people do it... do they come up with a menu...say like... at the first of July for AUGUST and then all through July SHOP for August so that you can buy thigns on sale. Then the first week of August have September's menu ready and have your OAMC day that first week. Then keep it up. That seems to be the only way you'll REALLY catch a sale and be able to do this inexpensively.

Gotta run... Captain Pampers hasn't decided to cooperate with me today. :(
